Writer's Workshop
During Writer's Workshop, students will be writing their own stories in their special writing folder! Students will choose a topic they would like to write about. For example, they may write about their weekends, birthdays, vacations, special events, etc.
In the beginning of the school year, students will draw illustrations to tell their stories. As the year progresses, students will learn their letters and sounds to write words, which will turn into sentences and progress to writing stories. Students will use their phonetics to sound out the beginning, middle and ending of words. They may also use their word lists, alphabet charts, and "Word Wall" to refer to for their "SNAP" words. Students will learn grammar skills to properly write the stories as well.
It is AMAZING to see your child's progress from September to June. I promise to challenge your child and encourage them to ALWAYS do their best and to ALWAYS take pride in their work.
